Leslee Dart heads 42West’s Talent Division and co-heads its Entertainment Marketing Division. One of the entertainment industry’s best-known and most respected publicists, Dart has directed the publicity campaigns for more than 300 motion pictures, including Woody Allen’s enormous critical and commercial hit “Midnight in Paris,” the Coen brothers’ Academy Award®-winning “No Country for Old Men,” Martin Scorsese’s Academy Award®-winning “The Departed,” Mike Nichols’ “Charlie Wilson’s War,” and Paul Thomas Anderson’s “There Will Be Blood.” Dart and her team also represent numerous individual actors and entertainers, including Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Conan O’Brien, Halle Berry, Meryl Streep, Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Rihanna, and Kate Winslet, as well as filmmakers Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Jonathan Demme and Darren Aronofsky, among others.
A recipient of the 2009 New York Women in Communications Matrix Award for excellence in Public Relations, Dart began her career at Rogers & Cowan. In 1981, she joined PMK, eventually becoming its President. In 2004, she founded The Dart Group, which later became 42West.
Dart attended the University of Southern California and received a degree in public relations from the School of Journalism, with a minor in fine arts. She resides in New York with her husband, Michael Leon, and their son, Matthew.
